FEED ADDITIVE
Sustainable and Cost Effective Mycotoxin Binding
Zeolite – Clinoptilolite is a natural multifunctional toxin binder, absorbing free ammonia and free heavy metals in the digestion system. Zeolite – Clinoptilolite is one of the most effective natural Zeolite of the Heulandite type.
The Zeolite’s highly porous structure provides large surface areas on which chemical reactions and cation exchanges can take place. It has a natural negative charge which gives it a high cation exchange capacity (CEC). Due to this superior capacity it can adsorb ammonium, toxins and heavy metals like Ni, Pb, Hg and Cd.
CEC – MODE OF ACTION
Cation Exchange Capacity is a measure of the amount of cations (positively-charged ions) that clay can catch. Since mycotoxins, toxins, heavy metals and ammonium are all positively charged; they are easily trapped by cation exchangers. Zeolite is the perfect binder with one of the highest CEC in all feed additives. Clinoptilolite in Manisa/Gördes reservoir has one of the highest CEC in clinoptilolite reservoirs in the world.
Mycotoxin Binder
Ammonia Adsorbent
Heavy Metal Remover
Anticaking & Flow Ability Agent
While other binders act as sponges absorbing vitamins, amino acids and nutrients besides mycotoxins; Zeolite – Clinoptilolite is a selective polar binder which has a binding affinity and selectivity for only positively charged ions (cations) like toxins, ammonia or heavy metals. It has no binding affinity for antibiotics, coccidiostats, vitamins, minerals, amino acids or other nutrients and feed additives. The effective diameter of the Zeolite pores are 4 Ångstrom (0,4 nm). Antibiotics, coccidiostats, vitamins, minerals and amino acids which have diameters larger than 4 Ångstrom; can’t be trapped inside the Zeolite’s cages, like they do by the other toxin binders.

Zeolite when applied to broiler poultry;
- By binding the mycotoxins and heavy metals, it removes them from the broiler’s body.
- Extends the shelf life of the meat by increasing the production of high-quality meat.
- Increases the feed conversion rate.
- By strengthening the broilers’ bone structure, it prevents leg bone irregularities, which are commonly observed in broiler poultry husbandries.
- Prevents the spoiling of the homogeneous look of the broiler poultry stock.
- Decreases the water content of the poultry feces.
- Decreases the occurrence of diarrhea.
- Provides high resistance against Salmonella.
Valuable Manure, Rich in Nutrients
- Drier, less odorous and more valuable manure richer in nutrients (CEC improvement, water retention and nutrient utilization in the soil).
- Reduces salt levels in manure.
- Makes handling and transportation easier.
- Biodegradable and environmentally friendly manure.
- Increases efficiency at biogas facilities.
Ruminants – Cattle, Sheep, Goat, Swine
Toxins can have vital effects on animals, leading to liver and kidney failures, infertility, immune system break down and even death. Toxins can easily be transmitted to their milk and increase the Aflatoxin level in the milk. Most toxins decrease the milk efficiency.
Zeolite – clinoptilolite is the perfect Aflatoxin binder. Its Aflatoxin binding capacity is not affected by the pH. It also has attraction for other toxins like Fumonisin, Ochratoxin and T2-Toxin. Its use in ruminants’ diets is well accepted since it increases efficiency and cost effectiveness of ration assimilation.

Aquaculture: Fish & Shrimp
Fish production is growing rapidly to meet the increasing demand. However, the growth of the industry poses various challenges. Northern fish farmers are experiencing massive sea lice infestations. Lice are increasingly showing resistance to drug treatments. Parasites cause stomach and intestinal diseases in fish, especially in higher water temperatures. In places where fish farms are densely located, water can be highly contaminated with industrial pollutants and toxic chemical residues like mercury, lead, aluminium and arsenic. These toxic elements and heavy metals accumulate in the fish and cause higher mortality rates. Moreover fish farmers are facing risks of their product being rejected due to regulations.
Ammonia toxicity is one of the main causes of losses in fish hatcheries. The primary source of ammonia in aquaculture systems is fish feed. And it is the principal waste product excreted by fish. Of all the water quality parameters which a effect fish, ammonia is the most important after oxygen. In aquaculture systems it can cause direct death, a decrease in production, and increased incidence of many diseases.
Using Zeolite in fish feed;
- Decreases the number of lice & parasites.
- Reduces heavy metals and toxic ammonia.
- Increases FCR – Feed Conversion Ratio, and the total weight of the lot.
- Improves feed intake.
- Gives a healthy skin and better colour.
Apart from using Zeolite inside the fish feed, spreading Zeolite in pellet form directly to the water of the fish and shrimp ponds is very popular.
Pets: Cat, dog & bird
Most pet health symptoms, illness and diseases are caused by an accumulation of toxins that our pets are not able to eliminate. Heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides and herbicides all have resounding health implications for dogs and cats. High toxin levels in our animals are behind ever-increasing rates of cancer, kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes and more. Much of these can be avoided by removing all harmful ingredients from the pet’s diet, however there are still many other toxin sources in our lives that we can’t just avoid. Commercial pet food, vaccinations, tap water, drugs, antibiotics, plastics, litters, and such are all possible sources of harmful toxins for our animals. Apart from offering a toxin free and high quality diet, pet owner must also care about cleansing the pet’s body with detox supplements.
Zeolite;
- Increases the quality of our pet’s diet.
- Helps reduce parasites and diseases.
- Reduces heavy metals and toxic ammonia.
- Once Zeolite enters the body, it improves on the health of a dog or cat’s digestive system.
